Global Rapid Post-Disaster Damage Estimation (GRADE): Venezuela Earthquakes

This Global Rapid Post-Disaster Damage Estimation (GRADE) report summarizes the direct economic damage to buildings and infrastructure assets caused by the earthquakes in Venezuela on June 24, 2026. This report provides critical insights to support response and recovery planning, as well as strategic discussions on risk reduction. The assessment does not consider the disaster losses or needs of the event, which could be assessed through future partner initiatives. The GRADE methodology is a well-established rapid, remote-based damage estimation approach that estimates direct economic damage to physical assets through a mix of earthquake damage modelling, scientific and engineering methods, and an assessment of the value of the capital stock, drawing on catastrophe modelling techniques and publicly available data.
