This three-day technical workshop on Risk-Informed Urban Planning brings together national and municipal stakeholders to strengthen urban planning in Liberia by integrating disaster and climate risk into decision-making. The workshop focuses on practical approaches to improve spatial planning, land use management, and investment prioritization in rapidly growing urban areas. Through a combination of presentations, interactive group work, and peer exchange, participants build a shared understanding of urban risks, assess current planning systems, and apply practical tools—from risk analysis to zoning and implementation frameworks. The workshop supports participants in translating analysis into actionable planning decisions, with a focus on cities including Monrovia, Paynesville, Buchanan, Gbarnga, and Ganta, ultimately contributing to safer, more inclusive, and resilient urban development.
