Overview

Disaster risk management (DRM) and climate change adaptation (CCA) are separate communities of practice that share a common goal:

strengthening the resilience of partner countries that are vulnerable to the consequences of natural hazards and climate-change induced risks.

This Knowledge Partnership Day organized by the current Co-Chair of the Consultative Group of GFDRR, Germany, brings together experts of both communities in order to

  1. shed light on the need for international cooperation in the important year 2015 and on the road to COP21,
  2. showcase innovative and cross-cutting approaches to strengthen resilience and
  3. contribute to the integration of DRM and CCA.
