Multi-Purpose Cyclone Shelters

increase the resilience of coastal communities to a range of cyclone events

In India, a World Bank Group project aims to increase the resilience of coastal communities to a range of cyclone events or disasters. The project aims to help communities in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat, adapt to impacts of a changing climate. The project is reducing vulnerability through infrastructure such as permanent houses, evacuation shelters and routes, and resilient electrical networks, among others.
