The World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) are implementing a technical assistance project under the UCPM Technical Assistance Financing Facility (TAFF) for Disaster Prevention and Preparedness. The technical assistance supports UCPM Member and Participating States with knowledge and tools to strengthen inclusive disaster preparedness and response, aligning with the strategic objectives of the EU Preparedness Union Strategy (2025) and the European Disaster Resilience Goals (DRGs). The results of this work aim to contribute to the achievement of the EU’s disaster resilience and accessibility goals and promote a whole-of-society approach to emergency management.
As part of this ongoing work, a Diagnostic report on Disability-Inclusive Emergency Preparedness and Response being prepared, with the aim of assessing the current state of disability-inclusive emergency preparedness and response across European Union Member States and Participating States of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism and Kosovo*. This work is being carried out by the European Disability Forum (EDF) in collaboration with the World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Risk Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) and is financed by the European Commission through the UCPM Technical Assistance Financing Facility (TAFF).
With the aim of finalizing the draft Diagnostic report and validating the findings and conclusions, we welcome any comments and feedback on the online draft report open for public consultation, by February 9.
