Managing the Risks of Unmanned Aircraft Operations in Development Projects

This guidance note provides an overview of the recent rapid emergence and possible uses of unmanned aircraft (UA); discusses potential risks and appropriate operational and regulatory considerations that need to be taken into account while planning and executing UA operations; and provides recommendations for how to apply UA technologies within World Bank Group (WBG) operations and related client activities. Costing of UA flights is complex and presently considered outside of the scope of this guidance.
