Brief: Building Regulation for Resilience

Since 2016, the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) has supported over 30 countries worldwide through the Building Regulation for Resilience thematic area (BRR). BRR promotes enhancing regulatory frameworks to foster a safer, greener, healthier, and more inclusive built environment in countries and cities. BRR provides : (i) Regulatory assessments and recommendations; (ii) Capacity-building activities; and (iii) Global knowledge, to facilitate governments’ efforts in incrementally strengthening regulatory frameworks, implementation capacity, and creating an enabling environment for better compliance.
