The Grant Objective is
to enable the Government of the Philippines (GoP) integrate disaster risk
management, disaster risk reduction and overall resilience considerations in
four provinces (Bohol, Palawan, Siargao, and Davao)
that are part of the proposed Sustainable, Inclusive, and Resilient Tourism Project.
This grant will do so
by providing targeted technical assistance to participating provinces in the
following areas: (i) upgrading local infrastructure with adequate resilience
standards (i.e. solid waste, septage, drainage and waste water treatment
facilities, disaster preparedness facilities, etc.) and (ii) integrating
disaster risk and crisis management in tourism development plans of the four tourism destinations (i.e.
contingency plans, emergency and crisis management simulations, etc.).
