The proposed activity has the objective
to support the Government of Peru in (i) strengthening the oil spill response
efforts( caused by the Tsunami triggered by the volcano eruption in Tonga),
specifically the shoreline cleanup and assessment technique (SCAT); (ii) assessing
the economic impacts of the oil spill that occurred in La Pampilla refinery on
January 15, 2022; and (iii) Inform the selection of priority areas for restoration
and identification of policies to mitigate the immediate and potential future negative
impacts of the oil spill.
