This knowledge note provides a short overview of IWFRM approaches and select examples of different initiatives and approaches. The objective is to provide a succinct summary that can inform initial research and discussions in countries that are looking to reform their system and identify challenges and opportunities, or good practice examples that could be relevant. The note reflects the results of desk research, drawing on information available, and consultations that were conducted as part of development of a set of reports focusing on integrated wildfire risk management in Europe, including several case study countries.
