This note summarizes the extent of Typhoon Yagi in Myanmar and identifies key disaster - fragility, conflict, and violence (FCV) intersections in the context of this flood event. It aims to provide insights to the World Bank and partners to enhance the monitoring and assessment of disaster impacts in Myanmar. Given the FCV conditions in the country, and limited access to the ground, the World Bank conducted a remote sensing and desktop analysis to assess the exposure of critical sectors due to Typhoon Yagi, which hit Myanmar in September 2024. The note provides an estimation of the number and value of exposed and affected assets but does not provide damage or loss estimations.
