The
objective of this grant is to support the evaluation of the GoM national flood
risk management program, and to guide its strategic and technical approach
going forward.

Activities
supported through this grant will include:

1.
An in-depth evaluation of the national
approach to flood risk management to date- with a particular focus on urban floods;

2.
An international benchmarking,
including a review and consolidation of international best practices as well as a virtual study tour;

3.
The formulation of an action plan outlining concrete steps to reform
and strengthen the current flood risk management approach in the long, medium
and long run, with associated financing options.

The
expected outcome is that the Government of Morocco has strengthened its
capacity to define a national integrated approach for flood risk management, articulated
with integrated water resource management priorities and in due consideration
of anticipated climate change impacts.
