The grant aims to (i) Examine current state of and practices and policies related to of climate change resilience and adaptation in Turkey (ii) Enhance the national government’s awareness of key issues and urgent need to design adaptation and resilience strategies in a risk management and continuous learning framework (iii) Mainstream climate adaptation and resilience in policy dialogue and considerations at the national level through the utilization of a macro-fiscal model (iv) and contribute to the next cycle of national development planning and inform potential development policy lending, and SCD and CPF processes. Grant components include:(1) Creation of a Baseline through adaptation of WB’s guidance note on Adaptation Principles on key areas supporting climate change adaptation and disaster resilience in Turkey(2)Deepening the understanding of nexus between the climate change and disaster risk and poverty in Turkey(3)Estimating the macro-fiscal impact of natural disasters and climate impacts
