Assessment to improve disaster prevention, emergency preparedness, and response mechanisms

The objective of this grant is to enhance the
risk management capacities of State governments and other stakeholders in high
to very-high seismic risk zones in India through program development and
knowledge building works on emergency management and fire safety respectively.
The analytical work on emergency management will produce a sector analysis and
investment plan for two high seismic risk States in India. It is envisioned
that the emerging outputs from this grant will inform the design and implementation
of the Comprehensive National Earthquake Risk Management Program which is
currently under consideration for Bank funding by GoI.
