The 11th Consultative Group (CG) meeting of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) Co-Chaired by the World Bank and the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) was held on November 17 and 18, 2011 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The inaugural World Reconstruction Conference brought together leaders, experts, policy makers, and practitioners, from government, international organizations, NGOs, academia, and the private sector from both developing and developed countries to collect, assess, and share disaster reconstruction and recovery experiences and take forward the policy dialogue for an effective international disaster recovery and reconstruction framework.

The 9th Consultative Group (CG) meetings of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) hosted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the World Bank, and in close collaboration with Inter American Development Bank (IaDB) was held on October 4-7, 2010 in Washington, DC.

The “Understanding Risk: Innovation in Disaster Risk Assessment” conference explored best practices in a variety of topics in risk measurement and assessment, ranging from open source risk modeling to community based risk assessments.
