Fiji and Tonga: Results in Resilience - Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to Assess Disaster Risk in Fiji and Tonga

A Results in Resilience Story was published showcasing the support the ACP-EU NDRR Program provided to Fiji and Tonga to build their capacity and readiness to deploy Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for disaster and climate risk assessments, and for rapid identification of damages to the environment in post-disaster situations. The Results in Resilience Story also describes how high-resolution aerial images captured under this UAV4Resilience project fed into the Tonga Rapid Damage Assessment and Recovery Framework for Tropical Cyclone Gita, which was also supported by the ACP-EU NDRR Program and informed reconstruction and reconstruction efforts after Tropical Cyclone Gita hit Tonga in February 2018.
