Results in Resilience: Upgrading Caribbean Disaster Preparedness and Response Capacities

The Caribbean region is facing an increasing number of devastating storms and extreme weather events. Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the region are seeking to overcome institutional and financial barriers to their respective national disaster management organizations in order to better prepare for such events, but there are many common challenges for SIDS that require a regional response system that can guide the coordination of disaster management mechanisms.

To this end, the ACP-EU NDRR program is working with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency to advance institutional improvements in preparedness and response to Dominical, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
