The Project objectives are to (i) improve the quality and uptake of flood risk information to better inform city planning, and (ii) identify future priority resilience investments piloting options and incentives for public- and private-serviced, safe and affordable land development in a selected area (watershed) of Yangon City.The
objectives will be met by providing support to the Ministry of Construction
(Department of Urban and Housing Development) and the Yangon City Development
Committee to: (i) collect and make widely available a flood resilience strategy for the selected watershed development area; and (ii)
implement a planning, engineering and financing feasibility study, with cost
estimates and options for leveraging private sector financing for climate
resilient infrastructure investments in the watershed.
