The project development objective is to strengthen the capacity of
the Government of Myanmar (GoM) to reduce the impacts of natural hazards in
Myanmar by mainstreaming disaster resilience, and
improving GoM’s knowledge of disaster risks in Yangon.
This
objective is being achieved through the implementation of grant activities focusing on: i) improving the knowledge base on flood and seismic risks in Yangon City; ii) providing the analytical foundation for a building regulatory capacity assessment; and iii) supporting the implementation
capacity of YCDC in providing quality and risk-resilient infrastructure.
