The overall objective of this activity is to enable urban resilience investments in
selected SAR cities through analytical work, knowledge development, and
capacity building. The technical assistance activities will also assess
vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure systems and inform national governments, municipal
authorities and the World Bank on how to better target, design and finance the
preparation and implementation of urban resilience programs. The focus of this TA is cities and countries with the high potential to inform investment
planning for risk reduction and preparedness. Therefore, the TA will support vulnerable
cities in India (Mangalore, Kakinada, Chennai, and Urban Local Bodies in The state of Kerala), Nepal (municipalities to be identified), Bangladesh (Dhaka),
and Pakistan (Islamabad and Rawalpindi). The countries and cities are selected
based on readiness and demands.
