The objective of this grant is to support the development of a stormwater and wetland model in selected urban areas in Rwanda and the government's evidence-based decision-making and investment planning for flood risk mitigation. The model will support the identification and delineation of flood-prone areas and it will be applied to simulate the impacts from the rehabilitation of selected urban wetlands and drainage system interventions.The TF aims to address the following issues:Data gaps for systematic assessment of flood risks in the CoKCoordination challenges across multiple ministries/agencies with relevant mandates and experiences for flood risk managementLack of comprehensive strategy and prioritized investment plan for effective flood risk management and subsequently the adoption of an analytical approach to risk mitigation and investment planning by the local governments
