The grant objective is to support the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (GoSVG) in enhancing emergency preparedness and response (EP&R) systems that are critical to addressing compound hazards the country faces. In particular, this grant activities are linked to objective II of the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Volcanic Eruption Emergency Project (VEEP) (P176943), and will support the GoSVG and NEMO in further diagnosing critical priority areas and, based on these diagnostics, strengthen emergency response capacities through technical assistance and equipment procurement; b) support structural improvements to the Emergency Operations Center and Volcano Observatory through the procurement of critical equipment and monitoring systems; and c) improve information management systems through multi-agency coordination and capacity building. These activities will be complemented by trainings and capacity building support on emergency management, preparedness and response where needed.
