The
objective of the grant is to strengthen the institutional capacity
of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam for flood risk
management and recovery planning. The grant is completing: (i) the evaluation of the effectiveness of the existing flood risk
reduction efforts in the Central Region, using the 2016 floods as a case study;
(ii) development of streamlined procedures for the preparation,
prioritization, financing resources mobilization and implementation of the
emergency reconstruction and recovery; and (iii) building capacity of disaster risk management
agencies on damage and loss assessment methodology.
