The technical
assistance (TA) provided through the grant aims to support the Government of Saint Vincent and the
Grenadines (GoSVG) in enhancing emergency
preparedness
and response systems and embedding aspects of climate and disaster resilience into critical infrastructure. It will target work
included under the World Bank Volcanic Eruption Emergency Project (VEEP) and
include areas associated with disaster risk management (DRM) regulatory
frameworks, institutional capacities, policies, and legal frameworks. The grant will i) provide technical
support to institutional assessments of emergency preparedness and response
capacities and needs and develop recommendations for targeted improvements to systems,
institutional frameworks, and investment plans; ii) provide targeted
analytics and technical studies for rehabilitation prioritization and
resilience designs of reconstruction activities; and iii) conduct workshops
and communication activities to support decision-making processes and response
and rehabilitation efforts.
