The objective is to strengthen Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and Crisis Management capacity in Jordan, particularly through enhancing the capacity of the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) in the coordination of relevant stakeholders, and to promote disaster risk reduction and preparedness practices. This objective will
be achieved through i) Analytical support to understand institutional and the organizational framework for DRM and identify overlaps/gaps, and recommend
areas for improvement; ii) Capacity development of the NCSCM in the area of
crisis management by developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); and iii) Development
of a framework for improving existing early warning systems, particularly for
flash floods.
