The objective of this grant is to enhance the capacity within Bhutan to strengthen information management and develop disaster risk assessments to allow for resilience related information driven planning and decision support in key agencies. This will include strengthening capacity for mapping hazards, collecting data on exposure, and conducting sectoral vulnerability assessments. This activity will also support capacity and technical assistance for improved coordination and information sharing among relevant agencies for disaster and climate resilience. This TA supported the design of a prototype of multi-hazard risk based decision support system (MHRDSS). It is also supporting the review of the Bhutan Disaster Management Act 2013 and the National Disaster Management and Contingency Plan that are being drafted through the Client Executed small grant project on Bhutan – PPCR: Strengthening Risk Information for Disaster Resilience in Bhutan (P175081). The main system of the MHRDSS will also be developed by the RGOB led by DDM through the above mentioned project.
