The
objective of the project is to support the Government of Armenia in
strengthening weather and climate services, and reducing disaster risks to contribute towards building a comprehensive disaster risk management (DRM)
program. The project is being undertaken within the framework of the ongoing Armenia National Disaster Risk
Management program (NDRMP) and aims to scale up the following priority activities: (i) improving hydro-meterological systems and service delivery, (ii) deepening the understanding of disaster risk financing options and strategies, (iii) enhancing seismic risk reduction, and (iv) engaging the government in further institutional strengthening and broader mainstreaming of disaster risk management across sectors.
