To undertake a seismic vulnerability
assessment and associated analytics to support to Yangon City Development Committee develop their seismic resilience strategy for critical
public buildings in Yangon. The diagnostic which will also analyse the regulatory environment,
institutional arrangements, procedures, and capacities for development and
implementation of building regulations will also be undertaken. Key activities are expected to include;Identify and characterize the most common structural typologies
(building data and taxonomy) of public buildings in Yangon, particularly the buildings that are owned and under the
administrative control of YCDC;Conduct field studies to identify the vulnerabilities associated
with the selected buildingsRecommend options for intervention strategies and options to
improve the seismic and multi-hazard performance of the most common structural
typologies considering other key hazardsRecommend options to inform
the sequencing of eligible public buildings to be improved.Technical support to Yangon City Development Committee to develop their seismic resilience strategy for critical public buildings in YangonA Building
Regulatory Capacity Assessment (BRCA) - an assessment of regulatory and institutional capacity gaps and needs for development of
building codes and improvement of compliance with legal provisions and
requirements. The BRCA will follow
the World Banks Building Regulation for Resilience Program’s methodology.
