The overall objective is to strengthen the capacity of the government of
Indonesia (GoI) to manage hydro-meteorological and geophysical risk in targeted
geographical areas and to increase the knowledge base for earthquake risk
mitigation. This activity
will address the following key issues: (i) improved analytics to support
decision‑making on urban flood risk reduction and preparedness initiatives;
(ii) lack of building code compliance for resilient infrastructure and seismic
risk awareness in Indonesian cities; and (iii) need for a multi-hazard approach
to early warning systems, including for health-related emergencies and
biological hazards.
