The objective of this Technical Assistance (TA) is to support Haiti’s National Disaster Risk Management System (SNGRD) and the General Directorate of Civil Protection (DGPC) to strengthen preparedness and response capacities, ensure a proper transition of activities from the emergency phase to the recovery phase, and improve the DGPC’s shelter management capacity in a Fragile, Conflict and Violence (FCV) context. In addition, the TA will provide technical support to the DGPC to consolidate earthquake impact assessments, support the Government plan, design and support implementation of recovery activities. The TA will also strengthen the DGPC’s institutional capacity and support the identification of informed investments in critical resilient infrastructure such as in hydromet, multipurpose emergency shelters and safe schools. Disability, gender, and behavioral considerations in DRM
(particularly, in preparedness, response, and recovery) will be taken into account and promoted through this TA.
