This grant proposal on “Action Plan for Support to Community-based
Disaster and Climate Risk Reduction in EAP” has the objectives to:

1. Distil Regional
challenges and opportunities including lessons learnt and the role of the Bank
in supporting Community-level Disaster and Climate Risk Reduction in the
East Asia and Pacific Region

2. Develop a Three-Year World Bank EAP Regional Action Plan to support community level engagements

3. Secure buy-in
from Sustainable Development Leadership Team, GFDRR, and related key stakeholders on the Action Plan for implementation
to start FY22.

The proposed Regional Plan for Community-based Disaster and
Climate Risk Reduction and resilience building will serve as a strategic product
to articulate a short to medium term (FY2022-2025) strategy for how the EAP
Region will support CMUs to address their key disaster and climate change
challenges at the community level; and improve upon the Region’s own engagement
processes and strengthen the framework for dialogue across the CMUs and
government counterparts; and to serve as a platform for mobilizing finance. The
Action Plan will be responsive to and aligned with corporate and regional
strategies, needs and commitments.
