The overarching goal of the technical
assistance is to enhance the resilience of the transport sector in targeted
SIDS through the provision of guidance and the development of strategies to
establish climate and disaster risk-informed asset management systems. The
specific objectives are to: (a) Diagnose the
climate and natural disaster vulnerability of transport assets in selected SIDS
based on a competency assessment framework developed and tailored for SIDS; (b)
support SIDS to develop strategies and transition plans
to strengthen the resilience of transportation systems; (c) Provide
capacity building to counterparts through knowledge exchange events and/or
online platforms.
