This
grant aims to articulate project activities that will reduce the vulnerability
of the built environment through two vehicles of activities: 1) the
development of a new risk financing instrument that promotes and rewards better
physical risk reduction and regulatory measures, and 2) support for
strengthened building regulation across the CARICOM region. This project will
explore how these two elements can work together to be fully complementary and
mutually reinforcing. To achieve this, the grant will develop the
following outputs: 1) a comparative analysis between the World Bank Building
Regulatory Capacity Assessment methodology and the a comparable tool developed
by OECS.
