The objective is to strengthen the
capacity of the Government of Myanmar (GOM) to improve disaster and climate
resilience of coastal communities in Myanmar.Grant funds will be used to provide
advisory support and technical assistance on modernizing coastal disaster early warning
systems in Myanmar. It will also develop investment plans to enhance
the resilience of coastal infrastructure, assets and communities. Furthermore, the activity expects to
strengthen the ongoing work in community-based disaster risk management in the country. Outputs from the
study will include a report on coastal and delta resilience in Myanmar. The activity was co-funded through DFID funded PAARC trust funds and Bank Budget.
