The objective of the fund is to develop resilient on-site sanitation system to address the pollution of the surrounding surface water in Dhaka. As urban floods is a frequent phenomenon, overflows of such contaminated surface water bring significant public health issues in slums. The activities are to inform gender-sensitive
sanitation service options under climate-risks, and to clarify institutional roles and responsibilities
among concerned stakeholders of sanitation service provision. It is a comprehensive approach, with consideration of vulnerable
people, that will inform technical implication to on-site sanitation and coordination
and management skill of government officials. Findings obtained through the
funded activities will be incorporated in the project for strengthening the resilience.
