This activity aims to build the capacity of authorities in high-risk cities and municipalities to assess multi-hazard and climate risk, to develop resilient city plans and develop prioritized investment plans for risk reduction and enhanced preparedness. This activity focuses on building institutional capacity in three to five high risk cities and municipalities, with a view towards using land-use and urban development planning, investment planning and enhanced preparedness capabilities to build resilience.Key outcomes expected include: 1. Municipalities can integrate an understanding of climate and disaster risks into city planning and plans/designs of sustainable infrastructure.2. High risk municipalities have increased institutional capacity to develop investment plans for resilience and ultimately access financing to implement these plans.
