This grant aims to develop tools and methodologies to increase
the capacity of Pacific Island countries in mainstreaming disaster risk management and Climate Change Adaptation in the
design of infrastructure investments. The project includes support for
prioritizing investments and mainstreaming disaster and climate resilience into
spatial planning, including transport, schools, and coastal resilience. It
further supports the identification of priority areas for strengthening
existing early warning systems and develops financial mechanisms for disaster
and climate investments. It will also support knowledge-building for climate
and disaster risks and mitigation measures.
